Update to Credit Card Checkout Method: iFrames Over the Page

This release enhances the checkout process for users using the Moneris Hosted, PayFlow Pro Hosted, and Cybersource Hosted payment methods. New iFrame pop-ups have been implemented that lay “above” the final checkout page and improve the overall look of the payment process. From these new iFrame pop-ups, customers can enter their credit card information and either submit the payment or cancel.

Once the user selects the button to pay with their credit card, the process remains the same that Pressero will then complete the order in the cart so that it can provide the order number and order amount to the payment processor. If the customer clicks to submit payment, the credit card is charged. If the customer chooses to cancel the payment, or the card is declined, or they close the iFrame with no action, the customer returns to the payment checkout page and has the ability to then choose another payment method if available or re-enter their credit card information. Pressero can then show text that will help the user navigate to either re-enter their information or if they navigate away from that page that they can view the incomplete order inside of their order history. Please see additional information about the payment pending pages and pay now options below.

New Order #XXX is Pending Payment Page

In this release of Pressero, we have changed the name of the “Order Incomplete” page to read “Pending Payment.” This will be the page that customers see when they click the “Cancel” button or their credit card is declined. Customers now have the option to select a new payment method and attempt to check out again. If the customer chooses to navigate away from the Pending Payment page, the submitted order can be found in Order History and they can pay for the order from there.

This is an example of the new Pending Payment screen:

The blue box at the top of the page contains instructions for the customer. The default text for the instructions:

“Your order has been submitted but is NOT complete and requires payment. You may choose to re-submit payment at this time. If you navigate away from this page this order can be found in your Order History.”

You can choose to enter a custom message in the Pressero admin: [choose site] > Settings > Instructions (tab) > Payment Page Instructions.(Here is the link to the Knowledge Base documentation on this topic.)

New Order History with “Pay Now” Button

New in Pressero with this release is the implementation of a “Pay Now” button. This comes into play when a customer is using an Integrated payment method and navigates away from the payment option page after the payment was declined or the customer clicked the “Cancel” button.

We have added a new column that will show if the order is marked as Paid (with a green check) or Not (with a red X). The order will be visible in the customer’s Order History page with that new column; those orders that used an integrated payment option (credit card) will then be listed with a “Pay Now” option.

Clicking the “Pay Now” button takes the user to a page similar to this one where they can re-enter the payment:

Updated Authorize.Net CIM Payment Method

In this release of Pressero we are pleased to announce the implementation of a new version of the Authorize.Net Payment Method. This is an update to the Authorize.Net CIM Payment Method that is currently available within Pressero.

Customers using Authorize.Net CIM are automatically updated to the new version of this payment method, but will need to update this method by entering a new parameter called a Public Client Key, which they can obtain from their Authorize.Net Dashboard (Account > Security Settings > Manage Public Client Key).

For this specific release, Authorize.Net CIM users will also be able to EDIT their Payment Method confirmation – customers already using Authorize.NET CIM will NOT have to enter a new payment method.

Customers using Authorize.Net Standard will need to begin to migrate to Authorize.Net CIM; if they use CIM they will need to update their credentials with the Public Client Key. Note: If you do not wish to use the CIM (Customer Information Management) option you can uncheck the box to do so.

Current Authorize.Net Standard Payment Methods will still work for a short period of time to allow for the transition to Authorize.Net CIM; however, users will not be able to create NEW Authorize.Net Standard Payment Methods after today’s release. The date at which the Authorize.Net Standard Payment Methods will be turned off will be announced soon.

With this release:

  • Authorize.Net Hosted will be removed and no longer available.
  • Authorize.Net Standard will be set as Obsolete; customers will no longer be able to create new payment methods using the Standard configuration.
  • Authorize.Net Standard users need to migrate to Authorize.Net CIM. Instructions are included below (and in Ch 18 Payment Methods). (Click here to link to KB).

In a future release:

  • Authorize.Net Standard will be removed from the user interface.

Recapping:

  1. All Pressero users who currently use Authorize.Net CIM will need to update the payment method (which is editable as of this release) with the Public Client Key from their Authorize.Net account.
  2. All Pressero users who currently use Authorize.Net Standard will need to create a new payment method as Authorize.Net CIM. They will need to provide the Public Client Key value from their Authorize.Net account when creating the payment method and begin to migrate their payment methods.
  3. If the Pressero user does not wish to use CIM, that can be disabled on the Authorize.Net CIM payment method.
  4. Current Authorize.Net Standard Payment Method will still work for a short period of time to allow for the transition to Authorize.Net CIM; however, users will not be able to create NEW Authorize.Net Standard Payment Methods after today’s release.
